A Rena Rodolfo

Prendas! Frio! Renas! Neve! Trenó no céu a aproximar-se!
U-lá-lá mas quem vem lá? Que coisa estranha… O quê? Ali!…

Felizes

Refrão

Vão aos saltos pela casa
Descalços ou em chinelas
Procurar as suas prendas
Tão belas

Refrão

Depois há danças de roda
As crianças dão as mãos
No Natal todos se sentem
Irmãos

Refrão

Se isto fosse verdade
Para todos os meninos
Era bom ouvir os sinos
Cantar

Refrão

Alegrem-se os Céus e a Terra

Alegrem-se o céu e a terra
cantemos com alegria
já nasceu o Deus Menino
filho da Virgem Maria
.
Entrai, pastores, entrai
por este portal Sagrado.
Vinde adorar o menino
numas palhinhas deitado.
.
Em Belém à meia-noite
Meia-noite de Natal
Nasceu Jesus num presépio
Maravilha sem igual.
.
Ai que Menino tão Belo
Ai que tanto graça tem
Ai que tanto se parece
com a virgem Sua mãe.

Vinde todos, vinde todos
À lapinha de Belém
Adorar o Deus Menino
Que nasceu p’ra nosso bem.

Louvai céus e louvai terra
Ao divino Redentor
Que hoje quis aparecer
Em Belém por nosso amor.
.
Pastorinhos do deserto
todos correm para o ver
trazem mil e um presentes
para o Menino comer.
.
Ó meu Menino Jesus,
convosco é que eu estou bem
nada deste mundo quero
nada me parece bem.
.
Deus Menino já nasceu
andai ver o rei dos reis
ele é quem governa o céu
quer que vós o adoreis.

Ah, meu Menino Jesus,
que lindo amor-perfeito
se vens muito cansadinho
vem descansar em meu peito.

Amar como Jesus amou

Um dia uma criança me chamou
Olhou-me nos meus olhos a sorrir
Caneta e papel na sua mão
Tarefa escolar para cumprir
E perguntou no meio de um sorriso:
“O que é preciso para ser feliz?”

REFRÃO:
Amar como Jesus amou
Sonhar como Jesus sonhou
Pensar como Jesus pensou
Viver como Jesus viveu
Sentir o que Jesus sentia
Sorrir como Jesus sorria
E ao chegar ao fim do dia
Eu sei que dormiria muito mais feliz

Ouvindo atentamente, ela me olhou

E ela deu-me um beijo demorado
E ao meu lado foi cantando assim:

Amar como Jesus amou…

Ao que vai chegar

Meu Menino vem
a sua estrela me conduz
e o Sol de um novo Amor
em breve vai brilhar.

Atravesso a escuridão
vou aonde a noite esconde a Luz
que clareia o meu caminho
e acende o meu olhar.

eu quero ver
onde dorme o Menino
Fruto da mais bela Flor
que alguém já viu nascer.

E junto D´Ele
quero estar todo o dia
fazer-Lhe companhia
na linda noite de Natal.

Meu Menino vem
Já fiz os versos da canção
para o Rei de toda história
que agora vai chegar.

Convido a multidão
a seguir o canto a uma voz
que me inspira o Seu sorriso
e anima o Seu olhar.

Venha comigo
aonde mora o Menino
onde se encontra a Paz
da Paz é a raiz.

Mas não se esqueça
de trazer ouro e mirra
o incenso e a poesia
e a alegria de viver.

É Natal, os Sinos Estão Tocando

É Natal, os sinos estão tocando,
enquanto nos seus lares
famílias vão rezando;

É Natal, alegram-se as crianças
que o Pai Natal voltou
com montes de lembranças.

É Natal, o mundo iluminou-se
com a luz do Amor
que Deus à Terra trouxe;

o mundo, que era grande, tornou-se pequenino;

É Natal, os Homens são irmãos,
esqueceram egoísmos e deram suas mãos.

É Natal, poucas horas, somente,
que juntas são um dia, um dia diferente;

É Natal, ó Deus que me escutais

O sino a tocar
P’ra lembrar, p’ra lembrar
Que já é Natal. (2x)

1. Vamos a correr
Pelos campos fora
Para ver Jesus
Que nasceu agora.

2. Jesus pequenino
Tão lindo que é
Junto de Maria
E seu pai José.

REFRÃO

3. Canta a voz do sino
Cantemos também
Ao Jesus Menino
Qu’ está em Belém.

4. “Jesus pequenino
Vinde adorar”
Diz a voz do sino
Sempre, sempre a badalar.

Entrai Pastores

Entrai pastores, entrai
por este portal sagrado
vinde adorar o Menino
numas palhinhas deitado

Pastorinhos do deserto
todos correm para o ver
trazem mil e um presentes
para o menino comer

O meu Menino Jesus
convosco é que eu estou bem
nada deste mundo quero
nada me parece bem

Alegrem-se o céu e a terra
cantemos com alegria
já nasceu o Deus Menino
filho da Virgem Maria

Deus menino já nasceu
andai ver o rei dos reis
ele é quem governa o céu
quer que vós o adoreis

Ah meu menino Jesus
que lindo amor perfeito
se vem muito cansadinho
vem descansar em meu peito

Eu hei-de dar ao menino

Eu hei-de dar ao Menino
Uma fitinha pró chapéu
E ele também me há-de dar
Um lugarzinho no céu.

Olhei para o céu
Estava estrelado
Vi o Deus Menino
Em palhas deitado.
Em palhas deitado,
Em palhas estendido,
Filho duma rosa,
Dum cravo nascido!

Arre, burriquito,
Vamos a Belém,
A ver o Menino
Que a senhora tem;
Que a senhora tem,
Que a senhora adora
Arre burriquito,
Vamo-nos embora.

Estas palavras disse a Virgem
Ai quando nasceu o Menino
Ai vinde cá meu anjo loiro
Meu sacramento divino.

Eu tive um sonho, sonhei a paz

Era um sonho branco
branco como a Paz
Era um sonho d´ouro
d´ouro como a luz.
Era um sonho imenso
qu´envolvia todos os espaços.
Era um sonho vivo
feito de mãos dadas e de abraços.

E li no meu sonho
A palavra Esperança
Ouvi no meu sonho
Risos de Criança.
E era a Verdade
A única lei da nossa voz;
E era a Amizade
A regra de vida entre nós.

E os que acreditaram
Quando eram meninos
No poder das fadas
Traçando os destinos,
Sabem que este sonho
Não está nas varinhas de condão
Sabem que este sonho
Começa no nosso coração.

Jingle Bells

Hoje a noite é bela
Juntos eu e ela
Vamos a capela
Felizes a rezar.

Ao soar o sino
Sino pequenino
Vem o Deus-Menino
Nos abençoar.

Bate o sino pequenino
Sino de Belém
Já nasceu o Deus menino
Para o nosso bem!

É Natal, é Natal
Sininhos de luz!
Replicai, badalai
Que nasceu Jesus!

Paz na Terra pede
O sino alegre a cantar!
Abençoe, Deus Menino
Sempre o nosso lar!

Natal dos Simples

Vamos cantar as janeiras
Vamos cantar as janeiras
Por esses quintais adentro vamos
Às raparigas solteiras

Vamos cantar orvalhadas
Vamos cantar orvalhadas
Por esses quintais adentro vamos
Às raparigas casadas

Vira o vento e muda a sorte
Vira o vento e muda a sorte
Por aqueles olivais perdidos
Foi-se embora o vento norte

Muita neve cai na serra
Muita neve cai na serra
Só se lembra dos caminhos velhos
Quem tem saudades da terra

Quem tem a candeia acesa
Quem tem a candeia acesa
Rabanadas pão e vinho novo
Matava a fome à pobreza

Já nos cansa esta lonjura
Já nos cansa esta lonjura
Só se lembra dos caminhos velhos
Quem anda à noite à ventura

Vai nevar, vai nevar

Ai lá fora o frio aperta
Mas não me posso queixar
Pois cá dentro está quetinho
E lá fora vai nevar, vai nevar

Trouxe milho pras pipocas

Vou meter me ao quentinho
Dao me um beijo de boa-noite
Ja estou pronto para o soninho

E a foguira ao apagar-se
Tambem quer ir descansar
Ja tao todos a dormir
E o pai natal vai chegar vai chegar

Vou meter me ao quentinho
Dao me um beijo de boa-noite
Ja estou pronto para o soninho

E a fogueira ao apagar-se
Tambem quer ir descansar
Ja tao todos a dormir
E o pai natal vai chegar vai chegar

A Child This Day Is Born

A child this day is born
A child of high renown
Most worthy of a scepter and a crown

Glad tidings to all men
Glad tidings sing we may
Because the king of kings
Was born on Christmas day

These tidings shepherds heard
Whilst watching o’er their fold;
‘Twas by an Angel unto them
That night revealed and told.

Glad tidings to all men
Glad tidings sing we may
Because the king of kings
Was born on Christmas day

Then was there with the Angel
A host incontinent
Of heavenly bright soldiers,
All from the highest sent.

Glad tidings to all men
Glad tidings sing we may
Because the king of kings
Was born on Christmas day

They praised the Lord our God,
And our celestial King;
All glory be in Paradise,
This heavenly host do sing.

Glad tidings to all men
Glad tidings sing we may
Because the king of kings
Was born on Christmas day

All glory be to God,
That sixtieth still on high,
With praises and with triumph great,
And joyful melody.

Glad tidings to all men
Glad tidings sing we may
Because the king of kings
Was born on Christmas day

A Christmas To Remember

Twinkling lights
A chill is in the air
And carols everywhere
Close your eyes, it’s almost here
Candles and cards
And favorite movie scenes
The smell of evergreen
As special as it’s always been
And I have a dream or two
And maybe they will come true

Setting our hopes on a big snow tonight
We’ll wake up to a world of white
It’s gonna be a Christmas to remember
Light up the fire, play some Nat King Cole
Always sentimental and don’t you know that
It’s gonna be a Christmas to remember

I know it’s true
Time doesn’t stand still
Many things can change
But we know some things never will
The memories we share
The songs we always sing
The mystery of life
The hopefulness this season brings
And I have a dream or two
And maybe they will come true

Setting our hopes on a big snow tonight
We’ll wake up to a world of white
It’s gonna be a Christmas to remember
Light up the fire, play some Nat King Cole
Always sentimental and don’t you know that
It’s gonna be a Christmas to remember

All I Want For Christmas Is You

I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There’s just one thing I need
I don’t care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is…
You

I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There’s just one thing I need
I don’t care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don’t need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won’t make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you
You baby

I won’t ask for much this Christmas
I don’t even wish for snow
I’m just gonna keep on waiting
Underneath the mistletoe
I won’t make a list and send it
To the North Pole for Saint Nick
I won’t even stay awake to
Hear those magic reindeers click
‘Cause I just want you here tonight
Holding on to me so tight
What more can I do
Baby all I want for Christmas is you
Ooh baby
All the lights are shining
So brightly everywhere
And the sound of children’s
Laughter fills the air
And everyone is singing
I hear those sleigh bells ringing
Santa won’t you bring me the one I really need
Won’t you please bring my baby to me…

Oh I don’t want a lot for Christmas
This is all I’m asking for
I just want to see my baby
Standing right outside my door
Oh I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
Baby all I want for Christmas is…
You

All I want for Christmas is you… baby (repeat and fade)

Angels From The Realms Of Glory

Angels from the realms of glory,
Wing your flight o’er all the earth
Ye who sang creations story,
Now proclaim messiah’s birth

Come and worship, come and worship,
Worship Christ the new-born king

Shepherds in the field abiding,
Watching your flocks by night
God with man is now residing,
Yonder shines the infant light.

Sages leave your contemplations,
Brighter visions beam afar.
Seek the great desire of nations,
Ye have seen his natal star.

Saints before the altar bending,
Watching long in hope and fear
Suddenly the Lord descending
In his temple shall appear.

Angels We Have Heard On High

Angels we have heard on high,
Sweetly singing o’er the plains
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains. Gloria…

Chorus:
Gloria, In Excelsius Deo

Shepherd why this jubilee,
Why your joyous strains prolong
What the gladsome tidings be,
Which inspire your heavenly song?

Come to Bethlehem and see,
Him whose birth the angels sing
Come adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord the newborn king.

See him in a manger laid,
Whom the choirs of angels praise
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
While our hearts in love we raise.

Away In A Manger

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where he lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep in the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes,
But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.
I love Thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky
And stay by my cradle til morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care,
And take us to heaven, to live with Thee there.

Believe – Polar Express

Children, sleeping.
Snow is softly falling.
Dreams are calling,
Like bells in the distance.
We were dreamers,
Not so long ago.
But one by one, we
All had to grow up.

When it seems the magic slipped away…
We find it all again on Christmas Day.

Believe in what your heart is saying,
Hear the melody that’s playing.
There’s no time to waste,
There so much to celebrate.
Believe in what you feel inside,
Give your dreams the wings to fly.
You have everything you need, if you just believe.

Trains move quickly
To their journey’s end.
Destinations…
Are where we begin again.
Ships go sailing,
Far across the sea.
Trusting starlight,
To get where they need to be.

When it seems that we have lost our way…
We find ourselves again on Christmas Day.

Believe in what your heart is saying,
Hear the melody that’s playing
There’s no time to waste,
There so much to celebrate.
Believe in what you feel inside,
And give your dreams the wings to fly.
You have everything you need, if you just Believe.

If you just believe.
If you just believe.
If you just believe…just believe…just believe.

Bells Will Be Ringing

Bells will be ringing, the glad, glad news;
Oh, what a Christmas, to have the blues;
My baby’s gone;
I have no friends;
To wish me greetings, once again;
Choirs will be singing, Silent Night
Oh, Christmas Carols, by candlelight;

Please come home for Christmas;
Please come home for Christmas;
If not for Christmas, by New Year’s Night;

Friends and relations;
Send salutations;
Just as sure as the stars shine above;

This is Christmas, Christmas my dear;
The time of year to be with the one that you love;

Then will you tell me, you’ll never more roam;
Christmas and New Year will find you home;
There’ll be no more sorrow;
No grief or pain;
‘Cause I’ll be happy that it’s Christmas once again

Blue Christmas

I’ll have a blue Christmas without you
I’ll be so blue thinking about you
Decorations of red
On a green Christmas tree
Won’t be the same
If you’re not here with me

And when those blue snow flakes start falling
And when those blue memories start falling
You’ll be doing all right with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas

Ooh
Ooh
Ooh
Ooh

Decorations of red
On a green Christmas tree
Oh, won’t be the same
If you’re not here with me

I’ll have a blue Christmas, that’s certain
And when that blue heartache starts hurting
You’ll be doing all right
With your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas

Mmmm

Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos

Ev’rybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa’s on his way
He’s loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And ev’ry mother’s child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly

And so I’m offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although it’s been said many times, many ways,
“Merry Christmas to you.”

Christ Is Born In Bethlehem

Christ, by highest heaven adored
Christ, the everlasting Lord;
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a virgin’s womb.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
Hail th’ Incarnate Deity,
Pleased as man with man to dwell;
Jesus, our Emmanuel.

Come, Desire of nations come,
Fix in us Thy humble home;
Rise, the Woman’s conquering Seed,
Bruise in us the Serpent’s head.
Adam’s likeness, Lord efface:
Stamp Thy image in its place;
Second Adam, from above,
Reinstate us in thy love.

Hail, the heav’n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail, the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings,
Ris’n with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory by,
Born that man no more may die,
Born to raise the sons of earth.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day is here and so are we
Time for children and presents
And Christmas trees.
Happiness, loveliness,
Christmas bells ringing out
goodwill to men and peace on earth.
Ev’ry thing they taught you
When you were a child
The things a Child once taught the world.
If Christmas day is really in your heart
You don’t have to save up all your love
To give once a year
Learn to give, try to live
Each day like Christmas Day.

Christmas In Killarney

The holly green, the ivy green
The prettiest picture you’ve ever seen
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at home

It’s nice, you know, to kiss your beau
While cuddling under the mistletoe
And Santa Claus you know, of course
Is one of the boys from home

The door is always open
The neighbors pay a call
And Father John before he’s gone
Will bless the house and all

How grand it feels to click your heels
And join in the fun of the jigs and reels
I’m handing you no blarney
The likes you’ve never known
Is Christmas in Killarney
With all of the folks at home

Christmas Island

Let’s get away from sleigh bells, let’s get away from snow,
Let’s make a break some Christmas dear, I know the place to go.
How’d ja like to spend Christmas on Christmas Island?
How’d ja like to spend the Holiday away across the sea?
How’d ja like to spend Christmas on Christmas Island?
How’d ja like to hang your stockin’ on a great big coconut tree?

How’d ja like to stay up late like the Islanders do,
Wait for Santa to sail in with your presents in a canoe?
If you ever spend Christmas on Christmas Island,
You will never stray, for ev’ry day
Your Christmas dreams come true.

Music Interlude……

How’d ja like to stay up late like the Islanders do,
Wait for Santa to sail in with your presents in a canoe?
If you ever spend Christmas on Christmas Island,
You will never stray, for ev’ry day
Your Christmas dreams come true.

On Christmas Island, your Christmas dreams come true.

Christmas Shoes

It was almost Christmas time,
there I stood in another line
tryin’ to buy that last gift or two,
not really in the Christmas mood.

Standing right in front of me
was a little boy waiting anxiously.
Pacin’ around like little boys do,
and in his hands he held
a pair of shoes

And his clothes were worn and old.
He was dirty from head to toe.
And when it came his time to pay,
I couldn’t believe what I heard him say,

“Sir, I wanna buy these shoes, for my momma please.
It’s Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size.
Could you hurry sir?
Daddy says there’s not much time.
You see she’s been sick for quite a while,
and I know these shoes will make her smile,
and I want her to look beautiful,
if momma meets Jesus tonight.”

They counted pennies for what seemed like years,
then the cashier said, “Son there’s not enough here.”
He searched his pockets frantically.
Then he turned and he looked at me.
He said, “Momma made Christmas good at our house
though, most years she just did without.
Tell me sir, what am I gonna do?
Somehow I gotta buy her these Christmas shoes.”

So I laid the money down.
I just had to help him out.
And I’ll never forget
the look on his face
when he said, “Momma’s gonna look so great.”

I knew I caught a glimpse of Heaven’s love
as he thanked me and ran out
I knew that God has sent that little boy to remind me
what Christmas is all about.

“Sir, I wanna buy these shoes, for my momma please.
It’s Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size.
Could you hurry sir?
Daddy says there’s not much time
You see she’s been sick for quite a while,
and I know these shoes will make her smile,
and I want her to look beautiful,
if momma meets Jesus tonight.”

I want her to look beautiful,
if momma meets Jesus tonight.

Christmas Time

There is something special
About this time of year
The Christmas feeling’s everywhere

I just got home
To join you
I’ve been away too long
But now I’m back to share my love
Friends are reunited
One big family
Filled with love to last
Throughout the year

CHORUS:

Christmas time
Time to share our love
Come and join
The tidings to the world
Christmas time
The best time of the year
Yes it’s Christmas time

You and me together
A sleigh ride in the park
Loving is straight from the heart
(Straight from my heart)

Snowflakes falling gently
A smell of chestnuts in the air
And Christmas lights they gleam across the sky

CHORUS

Do you remember
Everything felt so right
When I held you close to me

Do you remember
Those cold Christmas nights
Where we saw the world in harmony

Christmas time
Time to share our love
Come and join
The tidings to the world
Christmas time
Always the best time

CHORUS

Christmas Time Is Here

Christmas time is here,
happiness and cheer,
fun for all that children
call their favorite time of year.

Snowflakes in the air,
carols everywhere,
olden times and ancient rhymes
and love and dreams to share.

Sleigh bells in the air;
beauty everywhere;
yuletide by the fireside
and joyful memories there.

Christmas time is here;
we’ll be drawing near;
oh that we could always see
such spirit through the year,
such spirit through the year.

~Do They Know It’s Christmas

It’s Christmastime
There’s no need to be afraid
At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime

But say a prayer

Pray for the other ones
At Christmastime it’s hard, but when you’re having fun
There’s a world outside your window
And it’s a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging
chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it’s them instead of you

And there won’t be snow in Africa this Christmastime
The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life
(Oooh) Where nothing ever grows
No rain nor rivers flow
Do they know it’s Christmastime at all?

(Here’s to you) raise a glass for everyone
(Here’s to them) underneath that burning sun
Do they know it’s Christmastime at all?

Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world

Let them know it’s Christmastime again

Feed the world
Let them know it’s Christmastime again

Do You Hear What I Hear

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
do you see what I see
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
do you see what I see
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite

Said the little lamb to the shepherd boy,
do you hear what I hear
Ringing through the sky, shepherd boy,
do you hear what I hear
A song, a song, high above the trees
With a voice as big as the sea
With a voice as big as the sea

Said the shepherd boy to the mighty king,
do you know what I know
In your palace warm, mighty king,
do you know what I know
A Child, a Child shivers in the cold
Let us bring Him silver and gold
Let us bring Him silver and gold

Said the king to the people everywhere,
listen to what I say
Pray for peace, people everywhere!
listen to what I say
The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light
